Remembering

Today I have a full heart. Yesterday was veteran's day. I can't help but think of all those who have put their lives on the line and have fought so diligently for our country.
I am so thankful for their willingness to fight for me and my freedoms. I am definitely privileged to live in a great country. I wonder how many people truly realize how lucky we are here. People seem to take the things we have for granted nowadays. I watch the news and listen to the radio and have such sadness come over me. Is our country really becoming what it is? Are we really trampling each others freedoms and rights? Every day, the spiral downward seems to get faster and faster. Spinning out of control.
Then I think of our founding fathers. They went through this too. The constitution was written because of the same types of things we are experiencing. I cheer up some! I know that if things were fixed back then, they can be now. I know that "We the People" are as strong now as they were back then. I see a flag waving in the breeze and a smile appears on my face. It still stands strong, ever present and beautiful.  I am comforted and know that things will get better. May God bless America and may we return to being one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

  3. This is beautiful. My father wore his Navy hat on Monday (he's a WWII Vet) and everywhere he went people said "Thank you for your service". It was a day to remember and honor. But then EVERY day is a day to remember and honor the men and women who sacrificed and serve.

  4. I am thankful for these men and women everyday. I have a good friend over in Afghanistan right now and I worry about him everyday. But he is doing what he loves.

  6. I appreciate all of the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our military. Their contribution has been priceless. I would however, like to honor the unconditional and priceless contribution of the dogs and horses, and any other animals that have also served our country. Without them we would not have succeeded to the extent that we have.
